FAQ's
Frequently asked questions that we receive from our parents.
01
What do we need to provide to send our child into nursery?
A Grobag for sleep time, a favourite comforter or something that smells of home, a change of clothes (named), Bepanthan or Metanium if this is your preferred nappy rash cream. We supply all nappies, wipes, formula, bottles and Sudocrem.
03
What qualifications and experience do your staff have?
We have varied age ranges of staff and are very lucky to have a combination of maturer staff with life experience and younger staff. We find the mix of younger and maturer staff works well in the rooms. We have a wealth of knowledge from staff having their own children to staff whom are qualified from Level 2 through to degrees in early years.
02
How often are your fees reviewed?
Usually half-yearly.

04
What is your staff turnover like?
We are very lucky to have a large cohort of maturer staff that have been with us for may years. The Nursery Principal has been at Wainscot for 25 years. We are all very passionate about the job we do, you have to love children and take pride and pleasure in celebrating each and every achievement with them along the way.
05
What makes you different to other nurseries?
We offer a home-from-home environment and the management team are all very hands-on managers. We have all worked our way up and therefore understand and appreciate what it is like to work in a room. We never expect the staff to undertake any duties that we would not do ourselves! We try to equip children with the skills that will support them in the future, a sense of what is right and wrong, to treat others with care and concern and to be kind to others, all skills that will support children’s life-long learning.
07
How do I know my child is developing as they should be?
We observe your child as part of daily practice. If we have any concerns, we would bring this to your attention and monitor accordingly.

How long will it take my child to settle?
All children WILL settle! Sometimes when children are 2/2.5 years old, it takes them a little longer as they have a good sense of routine and may take them a little while to adapt. For younger children and babies, it is always much harder on the parents! Babies are easily distracted and we will give them lots of love and attention to support a smooth transition into nursery life.
09
Do you have a SENCo at the setting?
Yes, we have two named SENCos.

What if I am late to pick-up my child?
We do not charge a late fee as we know that delays on trains & motorways are stressful enough, however we reserve the right to charge a late fee if this becomes a regular occurrence. We do ask for an emergency authorised collector in the event that you are unable to collect your child.
