The Nursery is divided into 6 main areas:

Baby Room One

 

Situated within the main nursery building you will find our stimulating baby room with separate adjoining sleep room. Classical music can often be heard offering a calm and lovely introduction to Wainscot life.

 

We strive to achieve perfection with our provision of baby food. Our home cooked menu ensures children are provided with fresh, high quality, nutritious meals.

Baby Room Two

 

This is a delightful, well-lit room with lots of play equipment suitable for exploring toddlers aged 15 months to rising 2 year olds.

 

The staff provide a range of exciting and stimulating activities for the enquiring, developing mind. Babies are cared for by our generous ratio of staff to children, which allows us to provide first-class attention at all times.

 

The children in Baby Room 2 have French doors to their own garden area, allowing plenty of access to outdoor play and fresh air.

Baby Room Three

​

Baby Room 3 was created to meet the needs of our rising 2 – 2and a half year olds.

 

We believe that each stage of a child’s development should be reflected in the environment provided.

 

For this reason, our children benefit from age appropriate activates and individualised care to promote their confidence and holistic development.

 

In this room we provide lots of malleable and sensory play to support the children’s exploratory instincts.

Nursery One

 

Nursery 1 is a transitional room to support the children for pre-school. The staff plan daily activities following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which include turn taking activities, early mark making skills, listening skills through story and song sessions.

 

The Home corner offers excellent role-play and sharing opportunities and children regularly have access to slides, ride on toys, tunnels to assist their physical development.

Woodland Classroom (Pre-School)

​

This purpose built pre-school room is aimed towards the needs of the older child and prepares these children for the start of their school life.

 

For the pre-school child, Wainscot offers a balance between children’s initiated play and adult supported play. Through

implementing the EYFS we ensure a smooth transition from nursery to school. Children have daily phonic sessions where we introduce early reading skills and the children learn the individual letter sounds through fun, interactive games. The children all take home a reading pack which they can share with their families. Children wear a uniform in the Woodland Class, giving the children a sense of identity.

To enhance the children’s learning we are fortunate to have an additional room where children can learn in smaller groups.
